WHAT YOU WILL LEARN IN THIS MASTERCLASS

The infrabony defects represent a small but important part of Periodontal Therapy in charge of reestablishing the bone and soft tissue support due to the development of a periodontal disease and consequent periodontal breakdown.

In this Course made by 3 parts we include a final Surgical Video (part 4) which completes the most important knowledge that you should know when diagnosing and treating any periodontal defect.

It is important to mention that Periodontology is the base of any dental discipline since the bone support of our dentition will need to be controlled and monitored to guarantee the stability during any treatment.

This Course divided in 4 parts is covered by the next Program:

1-. The meaning of Infrabony Defect.

To understand the meaning we must learn the reason for development.

2-. Basic Principles of Periodontology and Biology.

Different pattern of bone loss, at early or late ages, generalized or localized, the different reasons for development, analysis of systemic or genetic factors and many other circumstances that involve Periodontology is the essence of this discipline so learning from the beginning will be a key factor to understand the rest of the Course.

By understanding the principles

3-. Cause:

The etiology of the Periodontal Disease will set the starting point of our treatment since misdiagnosis of it will represent a potential failure and complications. Knowing the cause will help to establish a protocol and specific decisions without the need of improvising. The combination of this discipline with others such the well know Orthodontics – Periodontics Interface will help us to succeed even at very challenging cases.

4-. Anatomical Analysis if defects:

By analyzing the defects depending on the remaining walls, the jumping distance, the soft tissue quality and quantity you will be able to set your final goal, assuming the % of potential success that is expected.

5-. Available Biomaterials:

The Regenerative Market is overpacked, so understanding the Biology that surrounds them will help you to apply your own criteria according to the situation. Not expecting miracles and knowing what works and what does not.

6-. Surgical Technique and Follow up:

The execution of the surgical treatment will be the last part of the course and by using the right technique biologically oriented, the specific incision design, type of suture and suturing technique having the blood supply as a reference will set your final goal.

7-. Surgical Video where you will learn:

  • Anesthesia location.
  • Incision design.
  • Flap reflection with specific instrumentation.
  • Periodontal treatment with the appropriate Biomaterial.
  • Emdogain Step by Step treatment.
  • Suturing technique.
